We are gearing up for another fun event at The Laguna Gallery of Contemporary Art (LGOCA) this Thursday, August 7th! There will be live music, amazing art, the “Get Your Silly On” photo booth, and so much more! All this fun and good times are to show our support for Club Dust and their efforts to keep kids in school south of the border in the severely impoverished communities of Tijuana and Tecate Mexico.
I took this photo last year when I joined Club Dust on one of their many trips south of the border to built Pop Up homes for those in need. As these precious little ones watched the construction taking place just feet away, they shared with me that they too were building a home. They pointed out where their kitchen, bedroom and bathroom would be. Mind you, none of these children have functioning bathrooms or running water in their shanties…. Oohh but how those little imaginations could work! I loved watching them dream of one day having a home of their own and safe shelter.
What I know for sure is that every child is born with gifts and potential but they must be educated to access that potential. Children’s awareness of their gifts gives them self worth and allows them to contribute to their future families, communities and the world at large.
Last year our event sent 86 children to school who otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity. Help us keep them in school by filling their backpacks with supplies or providing a donation. Please join us on August 7th for the Ignite Red Party! For more details go to www.alldesignedforlove.com
